Spoiler Alert: Being a member of the PTA isn’t scary! We’re just a bunch of moms and dads with kids at Ponderosa who love our school and our kids. We won’t force you to attend meetings (though we have snacks), and we won’t require you to volunteer (though we have some rocking events that may entice you to participate). You can choose what you want to be involved with! Members come together to support our school, plan awesome events, talk about what our teachers and staff need to support our kid’s education, and members of the PTA help make it happen. PTA helps you stay up to date on what’s going on in our school and our District, and how we can make it even better. That’s it!
WHY JOIN PTA? The number one reason to join PTA is your child! PTA is the perfect way to stay involved and be informed in your child’s education. But you can also use your PTA Membership to:
GET CONNECTED: PTA provides opportunities to meet and network with other parents, teachers, and school administrators. There is no better way to know what's happening in your child's school and community and meet other parents and families.
SPEAK UP and BE HEARD: PTA can be a way for you to more effectively be the voice for change at the school. By getting involved in the school, you will be a part of the solution, helping to make positive changes and building community through events and enriching programs.
SHARE YOUR TALENTS: As a PTA volunteer, you can use your skills and hobbies for a relevant cause while setting a good example for your child and all children in the community.
HELP YOUR CHILD SUCCEED: PTA fosters parent involvement. Parent involvement has been proven by three decades of research to be the greatest predictor of student success. You can volunteer and participate with the PTA as little or as much as you are able... ANY commitment level is welcome... especially right now!
EFFECTIVELY ENGAGE: Spend quality time with your children through PTA programs, events and resources. Not only will you show how much you care about them, but will also demonstrate the importance you place on their education. Our PTA plays a vital role in fundraising to provide building improvements, curriculum-based programs, and host social and family events – all vital to our schools success.
WHAT’S THE COST AND HOW DO I JOIN? The annual cost to become a member of the Ponderosa PTA is $10 per person. You can download and print a copy of the form HERE and return it to the Front Office with payment (checks can be made payable to Ponderosa PTA) or pay by credit or debit card with the button below:
